New federal government Di Rupo I cuts fiscal incentives
The negociators of the new federal government Di Rupo I decided to stop the fiscal incentives for solar panels, condensing boilers and insulated glazing in fiscal year 2012. Today, a fiscal incentive of 40% of the purchasing price exists, although there is a maximum amount the government subsidizes.

If you are not able to pay your invoice before 31 December 2011, you cannot use the subsidies anymore. The federation of Belgian building companies is upset about the new measure and its very fast timing.
The fiscal incentive for ecologic cars will also be abandoned in 2012. Since 2008, cars with a CO2 emission between 105g and 115g per km received a 3% tax reduction. If the CO2 emission was lower than 105g per km, a tax reduction of 15% was foreseen. This measure made the average CO2 emission for cars drop from 135g per km to 130g. Diesel cars, which emit less CO2 than petrol cars became (even) more popular.

Everyone who ordered a car in the last months of 2011, but will only receive the car in the beginning of 2012, will not be able to use the fiscal reduction anymore. The federations representing the car industry, Federauto and Febiac, believe this measure is bad for both the economy and the environment.
The new federal government booked 328 million euro in savings due to this measure.
