Outsource to people with disabilities and prisoners
Does your company has to face large amounts of unqualified tasks as stamping, sticking, packing, sorting or sewing?
Maybe you should consider outsource those tasks to a sheltered workshop or a prison.
You’ll make a useful social action and you will find a cheap workforce for those specific tasks.
The cost per hour in a sheltered workshop is around 9,50€ and 3,50€ in a prison.
Belgium counts many sheltered workshops, employing 19.000 persons with disabilities.
- Flanders: 77 Certified sheltered workshops; 11.000 workers.
- Brussels 17 Certified sheltered workshops; 1.500 workers.
- Wallonia: 66 Certified sheltered workshops; 6.500 workers.
On average, revenues come by half from the sales and the other half by government subsidies.
These sheltered workshops are well known but companies don’t often think that some of their activities could be given to them.
For example, transport companies could send their broken pallets for repairing or companies could employ people with disabilities for the gardening.
They regularly suffer from a lack of work, depending highly on the demand of their customers.
Make savings by considering a social deed...
