SOCIALware: SAP and Microsoft products free of charge
Did you know it? Bill Gates and Microsoft have launched a donation program of software for non-profit organizations called SOCIALware. Since 2006, SOCIALware offers Belgian and Luxembourg non-profit organizations access to programs of donation for most wanted computer products like Microsoft, Cisco, SAP and Symantec.

SOCIALware serves as single point of contact for beneficiaries, verify the eligibility of requests and centralizes non-profit organizations demands. These transactions are conducted online, for more flexibility and speed, while reducing management costs. A call center is available to help candidates donees . Orders are then transmitted to the TechSoup international program that handles the delivery of products.
Today, SOCIALware it is:
- 3800 registered non-profit organizations
- 117,000 products delivered
- € 46 million saved by the non-profit organizations
The King Baudouin Foundation and the National Lottery also support the project.
Only 4% of the catalog prices are due by the beneficiaries, which funds the operating costs of SOCIALware.
Eligibility rules vary from corporate donors. In addition to the commercial sector, the exclusions are categories for which specific programs exist, such as the education sector or hospitals. But also of particular actors, such as political parties or religious organizations.
