Key figures:
-* No less than 75 % of respondents did not even manage to fill some vacancies.
-* In 2008 a full-time employee hired 63 new employees in 2012 this figure felt down to …29 new employees.
-* It takes on average 45 days to recruit a person. In 25% of the cases we need more than 67 days to recruit someone. Only one quarter of organizations are able to finalize a commitment within 30 working days.
-* Nevertheless 55 % of industrial companies and 45% of organizations in the service sector mentioned more than 10% of hiring difficulties.
-* The situation is better in the areas of public administration, health care and social assistance where “only” 30 % of organizations with more than 10 % of hiring problems.
The labor market is more static over the five last years
-* Since 2008, the movement of personnel (percentage of inputs and outputs of service) on the Belgian labor market felt 6,5% down. Both inward and outward service drop from year to year. This decrease is even very prominent dynamic in a sector such as construction, which was very turbulent in 2008 with many inputs and outputs of service. Staff movements still hovered around 57% in 2008 , while they were only 40% in 2012.
The commitment of an employee costs € 15,000
-* Finally, we surprisingly found that respondents gave a wide variety of prices for recruitment. The cost mentioned by them was between 250 EUR and EUR 26,500 , with an average of EUR 5,372. Organizations rarely seem to calculate the total cost of a commitment. This cost includes invoices external partners, the salaries of employees own staffing, operating costs and software costs . According to a calculation of SD Worx , we therefore amounts to a total cost of € 14,827 for the engagement of a standard profile (employee) .
